Lia Griffith is an internationally renowned DIY designer, crafter, photographer, stylist and big dreamer. After realizing the demand for her unique paper flower designs, Lia launched her handcrafted lifestyle blog in the Spring of 2013, offering stunning DIY projects, printables and inspiration. Working full time to offer consistent, quality content, Lia soon saw her website flourish and now inspires millions worldwide to reconnect with their creativity every day.
Lia’s designs and tutorials for a handcrafted life are featured in more than 30 publications, including Where Women Create BUSINESS, Mollie Makes, Made in Paper, ReLoved, Artful Blogging and Papercrafter. Her work has been featured on many creative sites and blogs such as West Elm, Apartment Therapy, Country Living, Design Sponge, House Beautiful and DIY Network. Lia has contributed to Martha Stewart and is part of the Michaels Makers team, Target Style Network and She Knows Experts Among Us. She shares her skills and experience with classes available on Cricut, Craftsy, Carte Fini, Michaels, Spoonflower and CreativeBug. Lia is continually building her series of video tutorials on her YouTube channel and will launch her very own online Craft School in September 2016.
Lia partnered with Cricut to launch the Lia Griffith Edition Cricut Explore Air™ Bundle in the Spring of 2015. She also launched her first line of stamps, dies and inks with Hero Arts and is working with JoAnn Fabric and Craft Stores to launch an exclusive line of craft kits and decorations for Fall and Halloween 2016. Now, Lia is leading the crepe paper revival with her own line of extra fine crepe papers in partnership with German manufacturer Werola.
Lia’s creative career path has helped to influence her design style today in many ways. Her experience in restaurant and retail design developed her flair for interior design, her children’s clothing line inspired her love and passion for pattern and fabric, her flower boutique shaped her knowledge of floral design and understanding of flower anatomy to recreate in paper. Lia created and shared her first paper rose template while she was working as Creative Director at a wedding stationery company, and realized that she had found something special. After witnessing the success of her paper flower tutorials, it became her mission to teach, inspire and reignite creativity in others.
In recent years Lia has garnered praise for her stunning Papier Couture collection – a portfolio of 35 paper dresses which appeared on the runway and in art galleries. Lia also won the Scotch Brand Most Gifted Wrapper contest in New York City in 2012. Take a peek at some of Lia’s press features here.
Lia’s greatest loves are her daughter Emily, her dog Enzo and traveling in Europe. She adores a cozy, comfy (and drop dead gorgeous) living space and is thoroughly enjoying being able to embrace her age, with all the experience and wisdom it brings. When she’s not sharing her DIY knowledge, Lia indulges in making gourmet spreads for friends and family, and especially loves to cook and bake yummy gluten-free goodies.
